English - the  future.

The study of English is essential and therefore a compulsory part of education for all students. English is vital for everyday life and particularly for future employment.

GCSE Enlish and Literature courses are currently being changed by the Ministry of Education. When the specifications are published we will select the best courses for the students at Springwood High School. The new course will be 100% examination based.

To ensure further success, year 9 students will follow and be part of the GCSE preparation for English and English Literature. There is no speaking and listening element now. Any further queries to Mr Clark.

Springwood High School,  is year on year improving its results in English Language. We currently have 83% of students gain grade C - A*. Our trend is upwards because we had 77% in 2012 and 70% in 2011. Our target for this year 2014 is 85% of students gain C - A* grades and all indications suggest we will achieve this target. We all work hard for your success.
